Voluntary group on mission to rid state of rabies by 2050

Mission Rabies, a countrywide initiative, is collaborating with the State government to run a mass vaccination and sterilization drive for dogs in the state. The organization has set 2020 as their target to eliminate human deaths caused by rabies, 2023 as their target for eliminating canine rabies cases and 2025 as the deadline to attain rabies-free status for Goa. This will also help Goa achieve a global gold standard tourist destination status.
