Rs-1-Lakh Award for Cleanest Ward in Navelim Constituency

In May 2019, Congress MLA Luzinho Faleiro met with the panchayat members from his constituency of Navelim to discuss waste management plans and announced a Rs 1 Lakh award for the cleanest ward amongst them. A committee is to be set up to judge the same. Meanwhile, the Goa Waste Management Corporation has agreed to finance garbage management for one of the panchayats within this constituency – Rumdamoll Davorlim and will soon extend similar help to others within this constituency. Further, the panchayat members are planning on training youth to monitor throwing of litter and to levy fines for the same.
