Panchayats have issued 3,273 notices to houses across the state for direct or indirect discharge of waste water into rivers. 127 village panchayats have mostly single dwelling units, which dispose of their wet waste at source.
All village panchayats have prepared the village waste management plan and submitted it to GWMC.
