Govt. of Goa Official Gazette (July 2016) – GPDPs

Issue of the official Goa state government Gazette for July 21, 2016. Special focus of this issue is on the objectives of Panchayati Raj within the state and the need for the development of Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs). The primary objective of Panchayats is “maintaining cleanliness and sanitation (liquid or solid waste management) and improving delivery of basic services”, which is to be done through creating an annual GPDP for each village. The GPDP should detail how each Panchayat plans to raise sufficient revenue to complete educational, administrative, and physical aspects of development projects. Support for implementation of GPDPs is to be provided by the Block Development Officer (BDO) in addition to central government schemes.
